Holding On

Sometimes it feels like something's amiss,
Conversations stalled, lost in the abyss.
I don't get you, and you don't get me,
We both surrender, let it be.

Over and over, the same routine,
Inside, I’m hurting, can’t stay serene.
It's so damn hard to keep a brave face,
When every move seems out of place.

But I won’t give in to self-pity’s call,
Even with this weight, I stand tall.
I’ll keep my head above the tide,
Hope still grows deep inside,
That one day this pain will subside.

Remember, my love, whatever I do,
It’s all for us, for me and you.
For the good we share, though sorrow is near,
I grit my teeth, and push through that.

That I won’t give in to the storm’s roar,
Even when it’s hard to ignore.
We’ll keep our heads above the tide,
Hope still burns deep inside,
That love will guide us, side by side.

You don’t buy into what I’m trying to say,
Even though it’s clear, I’m on display.
To someone else, this might sound insane,
Like I’m caught in a desperate game.

But this journey we take, every step we make,
Though it’s tough and our hearts start ache,
Even when shadows loom large and wide,
Love’s the strength that helps us glide.

I won’t give in to the storm’s roar,
Even when it’s hard to ignore.
We’ll keep our heads above the tide,
Hope still burns deep inside,
That love will guide us, side by side.
