Fading Echo

Once I played the big stages, lights shining bright,
Crowds cheering my name, I soared through the night,
Money flowed like rivers, everything felt right.

Beautiful faces, they gathered 'round me,
Hangers-on and freeloader friends, all for the fee,
Laughter and music, life was a spree.

Now I sing karaoke in a dim-lit bar,
To beer-guzzling old men and cider-sipping stars,
Where dreams have withered, and the glory’s far,
I'm just a fading echo of who we once were.

Days of festivals, the summers were ours,
Endless applause under starlit showers,
Now I count minutes, through lonely hours.

No more limos, no more sparkling wine,
Just worn-out faces and lines of time,
Living in shadows, where the sun doesn't shine.

I remember the feeling, the rush in my veins,
Now it's all silence, just echoes of pain,
The glory has faded, but the memories remain.

Now I sing karaoke in a dim-lit bar,
To beer-guzzling old men and cider-sipping stars,
Where dreams have withered, and the glory’s far,
I'm just a fading echo of who we once were.

Strumming my heartstrings, though nobody hears,
Lost in the past, drowning in tears,
Life's cruel reminder of the bygone years.

The crowd may have vanished, but the song still stays,
Lingering whispers of the golden days,
I sing to remember, as my spirit decays.

Now I sing karaoke in a dim-lit bar,
To beer-guzzling old men and cider-sipping stars,
Where dreams have withered, and the glory’s far,
I'm just a fading echo of who we once were.
I'm just a fading echo of who we once were.
